Reflections through Meditation
|

This is one of the 4 installations I created during my 2007 NY School of Visual Arts Painting and Mixed Medium Residency, I painted my studio (ceiling included) black, and installed the metallic painting 3 feet away from the wall to create a meditation space. The beauty of this painting is its texture and reflective quality, which allows it to change to light or lack of light. It was a very spiritual piece for me to create and is part of a series of similar genre paintings and sculptures in progress. I have drafted a much larger installation which incorporates metallic paintings, sculptures, and lights. The image below is the same painting but in my Brookyn studio, which is flooded with natural light.
